The Gary Chamber of Commerce will host a writer and educator at its next monthly meeting in February.
Williams has had a long career in journalism, marketing and education. He was a Gary Post-Tribune reporter and now writes a weekly column for The Chicago/Gary Crusader. He is the former vice president of communications for Indiana Black Expo and served as the first Black assistant to the chancellor for communications at IUPUI.
“Your business/organization needs to know the history, history makers and rich traditions of the City of Gary,” the Gary Chamber of Commerce said in a news release. “Hear how business was in Gary, and what it can become. Mr. Williams can use his experiences to help tell the Gary story. Join Vernon and Chuck in a fireside chat format in celebrating Gary’s culture, heritage and community.”
