About
South Shore Arts is proud of our 85+ year history of championing the arts in our Northwest Indiana region. We directly provide art education and outreach services, art appreciation programs, and art exhibition services serving the Northwest Indiana communities as a whole as well as artists, art patrons, and creative professionals throughout our area. Through our role as Regional Art Partner for the Indiana Art Commission (IAC), South Shore Arts also provides professional support for artists, arts organizations, and creative professionals, businesses and not-for-profits. These services include the conduit for IAC grant programs such as Arts Organization Support & Arts Project Support Grants plus many others. We provide support and direction to qualified applicants including not-for-profit organizations, schools, municipalities, etc. who are looking to apply for grant funding to support their arts organization, or art related projects throughout Lake, Porter and LaPorte Counties. Additionally, we offer direct training from time to time to serve the entrepreneurial needs of artists looking to transform their creative practice into a livable income or new business venture which is further enhanced with the state-wide On-Ramp Creative Entrepreneur Accelerator program coordinated by the IAC. Finally, South Shore Arts coordinates a Regional Arts Council comprised of local arts organizations and artists of all mediums (Visual Arts, Music, Theater, Dance, etc.) as well as other creative professionals, educational professionals, arts patrons, and more. The purpose of the Council is to facilitate and promote the advancement of the arts in our region, provide a forum for sharing and learning amongst the local arts community, and ultimately help enhance the quality of life in Northwest Indiana and the strength of our individual communities.Services Provided
