The Leadership Institute at Purdue Northwest

The Leadership Institute at PNW is the hub for leadership development in Northwest Indiana. We offer a variety of highly regarded programs and resources including the redesigned Leadership Northwest Indiana (LNI) program, the Young Leaders Academy and the Explorer Academy as well as seminars, and events such as our Leadership in Action speaker series. Our mission is simple: develop emerging leaders who can grow their leadership skills through our researched-based program and customized approach.

The Leadership Institute programs and events provide a deep dive into leadership practices, challenges and strategies. Led by renown leadership expert,  Academic Director Dr. Rachel Clapp-Smith and leadership practitioner Executive Director Sheila Matias, programs focus on helping leaders who  are seeking to build their skills, and become stronger leaders in the workplace, in the community and at home. This robust learning experience grounded in current research and proven practices is for anyone who wishes to develop their leadership skills and focus on their personal development.

The team at the Leadership Institute guide participants through a customized leadership development experience. The programs aim to identify growth areas and pathways to become a more insightful, stronger leader. The programs include a 360-degree leadership assessment, unique one-on-one coaching, personal development plans, evidence-based presentations by leadership experts and a supportive network of leaders.
